Project statement:

My ongoing series, What's My Line?, addresses preconceived notions my family has of me and their notions of career, stability and success that are based upon them. I play around with the duality between my own desires of having free will against my family’s desire of whom and what I should be.

 

Bio and contact:

Tommy Kha (b. 1988) is a photographer from Memphis, TN. His work surveys experiential topographies of foreignism, familiarity, and the uncanny by questioning ownership, roles, home, and agency. He has shown in Memphis, Austin, New York City and Shanghai. He will receive his BFA in Photography from Memphis College of Art in May 2011.
